Expert Testimony

Dr. Hallett has presented expert testimony on behalf of clients on over 100 occasions primarily in the USA,  and also in Canada and Europe. His ability over the last 30 years to explain complex science related to how toxic chemicals have or have not impacted a group of people has been of great value to his clients. Mr. Campbell has also testified at environmental hearings involving atmospheric dispersion of and deposition of toxic chemicals in industrial and urban settings. Likewise, Mr. McEwen has taken part in public hearings involving the successful permitting of the mobile PCB destruction device in Toronto, St. Catharines, Australia and in Japan.

Risk Assessment

The Hallett Group provides comprehensive and competent risk assessment services. Whether qualitative or quantitative, risk assessment can be used to identify hazards, assess associated risks, recommend risk mitigation options, and help manage risk. Typical risk assessment projects include assessments of contaminated sites, site remediation techniques, chemical/industrial processes, transportation routes, accidental releases of toxic chemicals, and exposure to industrial process emissions. Risk assessment conclusions can be used by management and safety personnel to minimize risk, by insurers to evaluate potential liabilities and by public interest groups to assess potential risk to the environment and the public.

The Hallett Group works with each client to determine what approach is most suitable for their needs, and then provides qualified personnel equipped with appropriate training and software to lead the various phases of the risk assessment process. The results and conclusions of the study are documented in a professional report to the client.
